Shanghai Tang Dress
Rachel Grant as Peaceful Fountains of Desire in the film Die Another Day (2002) wears a Shanghai Tang silk dress.
Peaceful Fountains of Desire is a Chinese secret agent posing as a masseuse, who visits James Bond in his hotel room at the Rubyeon Royale Hotel in Hong Kong.
The shiny pink and purple silk dress worn by Grant features an intricately detailed pattern.
According to actress Rachel Grant in a recent Facebook post, this pink and purple silk dress from the 2002 collection was originally purchased in London by costume designer Lindy Hemming in March 2002 for around £1,000 ($1,400 USD at the time).
Grant was able to find a similar dress for herself in 2024 at a local thrift shop.
A similar Shanghai Tang Pink and Purple Long Qipao or 'Cheongsam' Dress can currently (April 2024) be found on Poshmark for $599.

Trivia: the name of the Hotel where Rachel Grant's character meets James Bond is full of references to the Bond franchise: "Ruby" refers to the 40th anniversary of the series (40 years since the first movie Dr. No); EON is obviously the company that produces the Bond films; and finally Royale is a reference to Casino Royale, the first Bond novel.
