Tiptree Little Scarlet Strawberry Jam From Russia With Love Edition

Tiptree and Ian Fleming Publications have released a special edition of the Wilkin & Sons Tiptree Little Scarlet Strawberry Jam, the am preferred by Bond in the From Russia With Love book.

Unfortunately, the jam is only available in the UK.

The 340g jar has the book's title on its front label, a navy and white polka dot satin ribbon collar - in homage to Fleming's signature bowtie - and an Ian Fleming Publications embossed seal tag.

In Chapter 11 of the 5th Bond novel, released in 1957, we get a detailed description of Bond's breakfast habits. Not only the jam is mentioned, but also coffee from De Bry, the Chemex coffeemaker, Cooper's Vintage Oxford marmalade and Norwegian Heather Honey from Fortnum's, Queen Anne silver and Minton china.

The strawberry jam is Tiptree's signature conserve, a dark crimson luxury jam made from the tiny, rare & intensely sweet Little Scarlet strawberry.

The tiny berries are grown in Tiptree, England and are usually no larger than a 1p coin (up to 20mm). Wilkin & Sons are believed to be the only commercial growers of this fruit anywhere in the world today, making Little Scarlet conserve utterly unique to Tiptree.

The Wilkin family have been farming at Tiptree, Essex, England since 1757, and making quality preserves there since 1885. The company holds the Royal Warrant as purveyors of Tiptree products to His Majesty, King Charles III, and held the same honour from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. Wilkin & Sons Ltd grow a wide range of traditional English fruits and use them to make conserves, condiments and other treats in their nut free factory.
