Former Bond girl Michelle Yeoh has won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once, the first Asian woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress in a leading role.

Michelle Yeoh played Wai Lin in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. Among many other film appearances, she also starred in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Crazy Rich Asians.

Other female actors seen in Bond films who won an Oscar in their career are Kim Basinger (Never Say Never Again, 1983) for her performance in L.A. Confidential (1997) and Halle Berry (Die Another Day, 2002) for Monster's Ball (2001). Judi Dench (M in Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig’s Bond films) won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love (1998).
