No Time To Die wins Oscar for Best Song and Academy Awards Celebrates the 60th Anniversary of James Bond

Billie Eilish and Finneas won the Oscar for Best Song at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. Billie Eilish and Finneas performed the No Time To Die theme song and the Oscars took a moment to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of James Bond.

During the evening in the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 27, 2022, a video that celebrated James Bond was introduced by skateboard legend Tony Hawk, surf legend Kelly Slater and snowboarder Shaun White.

The celebrational video featured the Live and Let Die music by Paul McCartney and Wings, and highlighs of 60 years of Bond, with clips from Sean Connery’s Dr. No to Daniel Craig's No Time to Die.

Later in the evening, actor Rami Malek (Safin in No Time To Die) introduced Billie Eilish and Finneas on stage who performed the Oscar nominated theme song of No Time To Die.

And a little after that, the Oscar for Best Song was presented to Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell.

When the James Bond film franchise celebrated its 50th anniversary, the Oscars commemorated the milestone with a special tribute including a performance of Goldfinger by Dame Shirley Bassey.

The Bond films have won five Academy Awards. Goldfinger was the first Bond film to win an Oscar, to Norman Wanstall for Sound Effects (now Sound Editing) at the 37th Awards. John Stears won for Special Visual Effects in Thunderball at the 38th Awards.

SkyFall became the first James Bond film to win two Oscars, to Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers for Sound Editing, to Adele and Paul Epworth for Original Song, and its theme song of the same title by Adele was the first Bond song to win Original Song. The previous nominated 007 theme songs were Live And Let Die, Nobody Does It Better and For Your Eyes Only.

Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes also won Original Song for SPECTRE's theme song Writing on the Wall at the 88th Awards.
