Safin Mask Replicas by Factory Entertainment

Factory Entertainment has released a licensed replica of the mask worn by No Time To Die villain Safin.

In the movie No Time To Die, James Bond is on the trail of Safin (played by Rami Malek), a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology. But who is this mysterious adversary and why is he wearing a Noh-style mask?

While we wait until September to find out, Safin’s masks have been carefully recreated for collectors as limited edition prop replicas by Factory Entertainment, the company that has replicated many Bond gadgets including the Golden Gun, GoldenEye device, Jaws teeth, tarot cards, SPECTRE ring and the SPECTRE mask.

The No Time To Die Safin Mask is also available as a Fragmented Mask, and as part of a Mask Twin Set. The masks have been beautifully crafted from the prop masks now held in the Bond Archive. The masks are numbered and come with a numbered plaque, wooden display stand, booklet and certificate of authenticity.

The film masks were designed by Costume Designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb with inspiration from traditional Japanese Noh masks, a feature of classical Japanese dance-drama since the 15th century. 

“The intention was to create a ‘pure’, expressionless, clean mask to counter the aggression of the character,” Suttirat says, “but also, to underscore a camouflage necessity in the pivotal scene set in the snowy Norwegian landscape. Safin appears in snow gear - white from head to toe in a white landscape - hidden in plain sight until not hidden, and quite startling when moved out of the snow and into the interior“.
