The famous Tabasco pepper sauce is seen and mentioned in the consecutive movies The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) and The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). It seems to be the favorite condiment for Bond villains eating oysters.

In the pre-title sequence of The Man With The Golden Gun, Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) calls loudly for the sauce: "Nick Nack! TABASCO!" while sun tanning on his beach. Nick Nack brings the sauce on a small white plate. Scaramanga is enjoying a silver bucket full of oysters on ice with lemon wedges, and probably wants to have the Tabasco to spice it up. On the table a bottle of Moët Champagne and Guinness beer can be seen. Scaramanga drinks the beer as he relaxes in his chair on the beach. It is possible that Scaramanga is drinking a Black Velvet, a beer cocktail made from stout beer (often Guinness) and champagne.

In The Spy Who Loved Me, after his plan of world destruction has completely failed, Karl Stromberg (Curd Jürgens) decides to treat himself to a plate of oysters on ice with lemon wedges and some Tabasco sauce, while waiting for James Bond (Roger Moore) to arrive. The little red bottle of Tabasco is prominently displayed on the lavish table. A gold rimmed glass with what seems to be white wine accompanies the oyster meal.

A recipe for oysters, lemons and Tabasco is featured on the official Tabasco website.

Tabasco sauce is a brand of hot sauce produced by the US-based McIlhenny Company since 1868, made exclusively from tabasco peppers, vinegar and salt. It has a hot, spicy flavor.

Both the Tabasco bottles in the movies are the classic 59ml / 2oz bottle of Original Tabasco. The design of the Tabasco bottle (based on the cologne bottles first used by the founder) and label is still virtually the same as 40 years ago, when the movies were made.

Probably one of the least rare (720,000 bottles are produced each day) and cheapest Bond movie props you can add to your collection. Get the 59ml / 2oz bottles at your local grocery store or online at Tabasco.com, Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk (note that the bottles also come in the mini 1.8oz and larger 5oz size or other sizes depending on your country).
