A vintage No.89 bottle from the 1950s, as Ian Fleming would have used it.

Floris No.89 fragrance was a personal favourite of Ian Fleming himself.

Floris is mentioned by Ian Fleming in the novels Moonraker ("Floris provides the soaps and lotions in the lavatories and bedrooms"), Diamonds Are Forever ("He would have to send a cable to May to get things fixed. Let’s see - flowers, bath essence from Floris, air the sheets...") and Dr. No ("There was everything in the bathroom - Floris Lime bath essence for men and Guerlain bathcubes for women.").

No.89 takes its name from the number of the Floris shop on Jermyn Street. Orange and bergamot blended with lavender and neroli give No.89 its classical cologne aspect. Warmed with a touch of spicy nutmeg, the floral heart is underscored by the dominant woody accord of sandalwood, cedarwood and vetiver in this quintessentially English gentleman's fragrance.

Floris makes a complete range of No.89 fragranced toiletries for men, including Aftershave, Aftershave Balm, Moisturising Bath and Shower Gel, Luxury Soap and Shaving Soap and Bowl.

The Eau de Toilette is available in 100ml or 50ml bottles. Floris No. 89 Eau de Toilette is now available online on Floris.

You can also buy Floris 89 at the original Floris shop at 89 Jermyn Street, London, SW1Y 6JH.

www.carterandbond.com carries No. 89 as of 06/03/2008. I looked every where for it and found it through Carter & Bond of London's website...I ordered a 3.4 oz bottle of that and Elite. All of Floris' men's fragrances are priced the same except for this one...it's a few pounds more (probably because it is rarer than the others).

This is totally misleading. Bond in the books does not use any specific aftershave, certainly not Floris 89.

Floris products are mentioned in Fleming but nothing directly attributed to Bond, other than having May stock up on bath essence for Tiffany Case!

I am disappointed any Bond fan should suggest Bond DEFINATELY used any item, without providing reference.

Enjoy Floris 89 by all means - but James Bond probably didn\'t.

A great fragrance that fits to the classic James Bond! A fresh note of Citrus, Iris, Bergamote backed up by classic English santal.

In Poland available in Douglas Premium Stores and BeautyBoutique. For more adresses and contacts look at our website.

I would just like to point out that while searching florislondon.com, I also gfound out they they have a talcum powder in this range.

A magnificent fragrence, Floris No.89 is well worth the money. It has a very clean smell to it with hints of Sandalwood. Don't put too much on though as it is very strong. Just the right ammount and watch the ladies heads turn as you pass them by!

As a Bond lover I wanted to switch my cologne to Floris #89, but I was leery about dropping 85 dollars on something I had not sampled, well the people at Floris were awesome and are sending me a sample, so if your in my boat, you should be able to contact customer service via the Floris Website and see if they will ship you a sample as well.

I was thinking of purchasing this, but the thought of dropping over one hundred dollars on bottle is a little overboard unless I really enjoy the scent. As of now, I cant seem to find or even purchase a sample.

For those having trouble finding this product at a reasonable price, I just found it online for $35.00.

I haven't purchased any myself, so I can't comment on the service of the site or the perfume itself, sorry.

I personally do not like the smell of it. It smells like baby powder with a hint of citrus. Unique smell, but it gives me a headache. Floris has other Eau de Toilette that are better than No. 89.

Tried normal places to buy this, eventually tracked it down online at www.scentsandscentsability.co.uk

it is very like "amouage" gold. just don't go overboard

You can buy it in Berlin in KaDeWe.

I can buy this unique fragrance in Germany. However, it is not being sold in the large franchise stores (e.g. Douglass). Look in the smaller, owner-run perfume stores!

Can anyone quote from the books where JB uses this?

I also wish to buy this cologne in Australia but cannot locate it anywhere, I cant even buy it on Amazon USA as it wont come up, if anyone has any ideas please write!!!

Sadly, when I searched for this Cologne in Australia, it can't be found anywhere, which is a shame. If anyone knows where you can buy it in Australia please let me know.

this is a great smelling classic fragrance, but its interesting to note that the Floris shop in Jermyn St London also sells a No89 talcum powder as well.

A good note about this fragrance is not many people know about Floris - usually commenting on the usual high street brands - this will impress, even if they don't like the smell, which by the way is a warm subtle one. Don't over apply!

Well, I\'m a bit of a cologne snob but this offering from Floris works well. At first you WILL wear way too much, but over time it works well and lingers in a fleeting manner.

Smells good and makes you feel good. Try it now !

A full range of Floris 89 is available from Liberty of London. This includes Shaving Soap, Talcum and Aftershave Balm.

Beautiful fragrance.

Being a huge fan of Floris I just wanted to say that you can find the whole range of Floris and other English fragrances and accessories as well in the US in this address

http://www.shoplondons.com/floris.html

You can get the No.89 as well as other hard to find like the Malmaison and the other range of Floris Classic fragrances. Tought it would be helpful to listed since I did not see a US dealer for Floris on the links. They deliver quickly and accurate, very good service I must say from the experiences that I've had and I bought the whole range of Floris for men from this site.

In AUSTRALIA the Floris range can be purchased at Henry Bucks, O'Connell St, Sydney. My favourite is the JF. The 89 ends up with a rather "soapy" after smell. These scents are quite different to the familiar tribe of scents in most high street stores. Note that Henry Bucks also stocks Persol polo and T shirts, at A$175 for the former and A$99 for the later.

Ooops, of course I meant Sunspel shirts in my last post.

I have recently gotten this product. I must say that it is magnificint. I would recomend it to my freinds, but then i wouldnt be as unique, and that is a good feature of this product.

Not sure any scent/cologne was mentioned in the Fleming works - The films are unreliable, often product placement took precedence over the Traditional English but left-field and double barrelled name preferences (Bond in a BMW anyone?) - I have heard Geo F. trumpers 'Eucris' also linked but cannot find a reference to this in the books.

after searching high & low for almost 11 months (no one in leicester has every heard of it & hard to find on the web) a lady in fennicks told me to email floris to see if they would have any samples (not paying £50 without smelling it)
they got back to me within the hour & today i received 3x sample bottles of floris no.89 great service great scent

I have bought this perfume in London. Actually, the price was cheaper in Fortnum and Mason than in the original Floris shop located in Jermyn St. This is an "old school" perfume. If you compare with modern fragrance it may seem too strong at first... but after a while it leaves a subtle and delicate fragrance while most of mainstream perfume will just disappear. This fragrance will stay very long.

I'm always amused by claims that 'this is the cologne Bond wore.' I've seen them in relation to Eucris by Trumper and now this Floris cologne. In the Fleming books Bond did NOT wear cologne. In fact in at least 2 books that I know of he disparages anyone who does. In "Diamonds are Forever," he describes the American Mafia as, "mostly a lot of Italian bums with monogrammed shirts who spend the day eating spaghetti and meatballs and squirting scent over themselves." In "From Russia
With Love," when Tatiana Romanova asks Bond why Englishmen don't wear cologne since all Russian men do, he replies, "We bathe."

Its mascuine and old fashioned. Its from the 50's so come on!

I like it though. The soap and shaving cream of the same is also very nice. Visit the shop and enjoy.

It was a favourite of Ian Flemings, pretty much says that everywhere. And theres more than a bit of him in JB.

Its not true that the No 89 EDT is the only product still avalable- I've ordered the EDT, some No89 shaving soap and Floris Limes bath essense recently from the Floris website.....

A Full range including shower gel, aftershave balm, aftershave splash and soap is available

finally after 2 years i paid floris a visit in person (in london to watch the royal wedding) & bought no.89.
ive had a few samples since 2009 but wanted to buy this in person.
the scent is a must very very good for day.a light hint of rose & lavender but not to powdery or "girlie"as some reviewers have said on the internet & definitely not a dry or sickly sweet smell
i asked the lady behind the counter for a "30ml bottle of ian fleming's favourite" she just smile & got me no.89 (ive waited years to say that ;-) )
if you want to smell it email floris from their website.they have wonderful customer service.
if you visit buy underground GET OFF @ GREEN PARK TUBE STATION.
none of the underground staff, police or information officials knew or every heard of jermyn street

I wear a blue omega seamaster james bond watch since 2005. Looking for a good omega watchmaker for my watch dials & i was clicked to the bond web-site etc..saw the good review of this scent and mailed the shop. Asking them for their banknumber to pay for nr 89. Instead they post me samples of nr89 & Santal to try. Perfect service ! So i will buy more by post but also visit treir shop when visting LOndon next time.

Hi sir/madame,

Shadab here, I want to know the exact price of floris no. 89 In Indian price money...!ASAP

I've worn this as eau de toilette and aftershave for a few years now, and more recently I've used it as a shaving cream which is amazing, very long lasting. I use for a few reasons, obviously for the Bond association because I'm a huge fan, but also because it is a very unusual aroma, quite uncommon for a man's after shave and distinctive too. It's quite a fresh scent, like the modern citrusy fragrances like CK One, and so as its been available since the 50s its way ahead of its time. Actually Floris Cefiro is more like CK One, but then I like that too. Floris toiletries are more expensive than other brands, but the quality is incredible, they last a long time, and they carry an aura of exclusivity that's hard to match. Worth ever single penny.

Ian Fleming (and in the books, James Bond) uses Floris No. 89 Shaving Soap - not the cologne. Paired with a Hoffritz slant-bar open combed razor. The comment about Bond not using cologne is accurate - he relied on cleanliness and the residual scent of the shave soap, which is fantastic.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Geo. F. Trumper's Eucris is mentioned specifically, by name. Nice things come to those who actually read the books rather than depend on movies for their stories.
At the moment Floris are selling No 89 at £34.50 as they are bring out new smaller packaging .
Hi everyone I've heard so much about the floris collection all good but I'm a man who likes to try before I buy would like to try some testers first can anyone tell me where I can purchase them from would very much appreceiate it
One wonders why small vials of Floris 89 are not available for purchase, much like that first kiss, cigarette and beer. Each of which embraced me.
No buying necessary - Floris will send you a free set of samples if you ask.
I read an interview with Fleming where he stated the original Dunhill for Men was Bond's cologne of choice.
