King Zero: The New James Bond Novel

King Zero is the new James Bond novel by Charlie Higson, bringing 007 into a contemporary story involving betrayal, technology and a threat with global consequences.

The story begins with the murder of a British agent in the Saudi desert. The circumstances suggest that someone on the inside has betrayed him, sending James Bond on a trail that develops into a race to prevent a much larger catastrophe.

King Zero is Higson's first full-length adult James Bond novel. Higson previously wrote the successful Young Bond series and returned to the adult Bond world with the 2023 story On His Majesty's Secret Service.

The novel also contains plenty of familiar Bond details. Among the products mentioned in the story is Bond's vintage Vertex Cal 59 WWW watch, an original wartime model inherited from his great-uncle.
