The James Bond films Goldfinger (1964) and Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), were filmed in and around the Clubhouse and on the championship golf course, Stoke Park at Stoke Poges.

The famous golf match between Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) and James Bond (Sean Connery) were filmed on this course and in front of the main club building.

In Tomorrow Never Dies, the Ballroom doubles for the interior of the Hamburg hotel, where Bond (Pierce Brosnan) drinks his Smirnoff vodka, renews his past relationship with Carver's wife Paris (Teri Hatcher) and struggles with Dr. Kaufman (Götz Otto).

Stoke Park, with its 27 hole golf course and country club, and award winning spa, Stoke Park Spa, is one of the most special places in the world, in one of the most convenient locations in Britain.

Stoke Park also featured in the films Layer Cake (2004, with Daniel Craig), Wimbledon (2004), Bride and Prejudice (2004), and Bridget Jones' Diary (2001).

Myself and 3 colleagues played this course a couple of years ago and it was the worst golf in years, all mud even on the fairways. It was called Stokes Podges at the time, and I couldn't believe that I paid $300. to play here. I have played everywhere up to and including some of the better courses in the US and Europe $300. is par at some of these places, but you cant believe how bad this was.

You must have played the public track down the road pal as SP has some of the finest greens anywhere in Europe and is a classic track full of variety.
Stoke Park truly is a magnificent place, no wonder it has such a rich film history! It is easy to imagine Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan reclining with a drink in The Orangery looking out over the golf course from the imposing Mansion.
