The new Bond, Young Bond revealed!

Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications have revealed the actors who will lead the upcoming audio adaptation of Charlie Higson's Young Bond novel SilverFin.

Isaac Rouse is James Bond alongside Charlotte McBurney as Wilder Lawless in Young Bond: SilverFin, a full-cast audio drama due for release October 2026

Isaac Rouse has been cast as James Bond, while Charlotte McBurney will play Wilder Lawless, Bond's adventurous ally. The full-cast audio drama is scheduled for release in October 2026.

Rouse has previously appeared in The Crown, Get Even and Genius, and played Charlie Bucket in Sam Mendes' stage production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. McBurney is best known for her voice performances in the A Plague Tale games, for which she received a BAFTA nomination, and Final Fantasy XVI.

The production team reviewed around 500 actors before narrowing the field to 12 finalists. According to director and adaptor Barnaby Edwards, the final decision came down to finding a performer who could capture Bond's intelligence, vulnerability and determination.

Edwards said Rouse brought "a spark of intelligence, honesty and emotional truth" to the role, while also conveying the resilience needed for the young Bond. He also praised McBurney's performance as Wilder Lawless, describing the chemistry between the two lead actors as "utterly believable."

Rouse said he was honoured to take on such an iconic role, adding that he was looking forward to introducing listeners to a younger version of James Bond. McBurney described Wilder as "fiercely independent, curious and full of heart," saying she was excited to bring the character to life.

Young Bond: SilverFin is adapted from Charlie Higson's 2005 novel and marks the first release in Big Finish's new series of Young Bond audio dramas. The story follows a teenage James Bond during his first term at Eton College as he investigates mysterious events surrounding Lord Hellebore's Scottish castle and a dangerous discovery known as SilverFin.
