Hi, nice site! I just like to know, are these the shoes he wore in the opening when he fell in the water? They looking just absolutely stunning!
Yes, these are shoes from the opening sequence.
Does anyone know what shoes he wears with his tuxedo in Shanghai?
The shoes worn with the tuxedo are the Crockett & Jones Alex.
I bought them a week ago, best shoes ever! A lot of style and comfortable, a real 007 item.
I have a pair of lightly used (maybe 5 times) Tetburys in size 12US for sale on ebay. Let me know if you are interested. Just a little too big for me. Ordered the Highburys and they rock too!
Does anyone know if this is the same boot Craig wears at the very end of Casino Royale when he finally says, "The name's Bond, James Bond"? I thought someone had ID'd that footwear once on here, but I can't seem to find it. I'm starting to get into boots as my primary shoe. (I'm mulling over a pair of Alden 405's now.) I'd love the pick up a pair, and was wondering if the types of boots Bond wears acceptable to wear with a suit.
Dear Arlington . I would like to help you with your question two . About boots with a suit. The short correct answer is that you cannot wear boots with a formal suits. The boots are too casual for the fine suit. Now however Bond and we fans like to breake the rules. The smooth calfskin of the Tetbury means that the faux pas is not a very grave one. It looks I'm fact quite elegant. I would also wear a boot like that with a suit but purists might find it too casual. Just don't go to far. Boots with a dinner jacket or white tails. The boots should allways fit the trousers You can use this guide for inspiration http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/2008/08/a-sliding-scale-of-formality.htm... Since the boot is higher than the normal shoe the trousers should be fitted accordenly If you look at Bond in QOS you can see that his trousers are cut shorter to make the fit better . Wash the trousers first before the alterations Best regards Peter
I have just purchased these from www.kurtgeiger.com, not only are they £305 list price (£80 less than C&J) but if you sign up they will give you a further 25% discount code - do the maths!! I was a little unsure if this was too good to be true but they have arrived today, the real deal at almost 40 % less than C&J!
Darren, KurtGeiger does have a 25% discount code available online but the list price for the leather model (in black only) is £380 and they don't seem to have an option to ship to the United States. I did see Pockets.co.uk has an option to ship internationally and a lower price, although I can't see any discount codes available.
Great to find this site. The boots look nice! Would these sut for a daily formal wear?
Just bought a pair of these used off Ebay for $275.00 + 12.80 shipping. Tried them on and WOW!!!! Unbelievably comfortable. I’ve been watching Ebay for over a year for a pair in my size and price with little use. These are amazingly comfortable. I’d say well worth buying new for $660.00. I’m now saving up to buy a new pair of Highbury. I’d say the comfort is worth the price they ask. I’m a long time Allen Edmond wearer and these are much more comfortable. Well worth the extra price IMHO. Also, I wear an 11D US in Allen Edmond. The ones I bought, Tetbury, were 10E UK, and I was concerned about the fit. They fit perfect for both length and width. :-)
