Paul Smith Black Check Pattern Mac coat
Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) wears a Paul Smith Black Check Pattern Mac coat product code W1R-136C-A10313-79 in the London scenes of No Time To Die.
The outifit was spotted when Naomie Harris and Daniel Craig filmed scenes outside in London in July 2019. The scenes feature James Bond driving Eve Moneypenny in his Aston Martin V8 through London, possibly to or from Q's appartment and/or MI6 headquarters.
Made in Italy from a textured woven cloth and featured in Paul Smith's SS19 fashion show, this long black mac features taupe and red check and stripe pattern, raglan sleeves and two front pockets. Complete with a removable waist belt, this luxurious coat is finished with contrasting light pink and chocolate brown cupro lining. other features include button details on sleeves, internal Paul Smith patch, concealed placket, and sustainable horn buttons
The Paul Smith coat, original price $950.00, is not available anymore.
With the coat Moneypenny wears a long sleeve pink Petar Petrov Blair silk shirt with oversized cuffs, and navy trousers with pink stripes.
As far as I know this is the first Paul Smith item worn in a Bond film.
Paul Smith James Bond book design
The only other direct link between Paul Smith and James Bond is a book cover Paul Smith designed in 2015. And not just any book cover - the cover of a one off, first edition copy of Ian Fleming’s The Man with the Golden Gun, 10Magazine reports.
The book presentation took place at the Paul Smith Albemarle Street store in London. Paul Smith himself commented “Ian Fleming’s Bond books have entertained so many people and have always fascinated me. It is an absolute joy to have the opportunity to host this event in my No. 9 Albemarle Street shop with all the first edition books available for everyone to see”.
The cover of the book features James Bond in Paul Smith’s A Suit To Travel In. Alongside the book there was also a collection of first edition Ian Fleming Bond novels, loaned from rare bookseller Peter Harrington (who offered the first edition collection for £2.5m in 2019). Harrington said of the collaboration “it has been particularly exciting to see one British icon designing a particularly special book in celebration of another. The finished item is certainly worthy of the Bond legacy, and the evening was a fitting tribute to Fleming’s best-loved creation.”
