The magazine Playboy has a long associated history with the James Bond series.

Short Stories Several Ian Fleming short stories were published in Playboy:
The Hildebrand Rarity was first published in Playboy in March 1960
The Property of a Lady was published in Playboy in 1964.
Octopussy was first serialised in the March and April 1966 issues of Playboy magazine

The following Bond novels by Raymond Benson were first published in Playboy:
Blast from the Past - First publication: Playboy, January 1997 issue
Midsummer Night's Doom - First publication: Playboy, January 1999 issue. Midsummer Night's Doom is a special story commissioned to help celebrate Playboy's 45th anniversary, featuring Playboy Playmate Lisa Dergan. She is, to date, the only real-life person to be featured as a Bond girl in any literary Bond story.

Movie appearances
A Playboy magazine can be seen quite clearly in the 1969 movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The issue of Playboy that James Bond (George Lazenby) is reading whilst cracking Gebrüder Gumbold law firm safe in Bern, Switserland, is the February 1969 issue, with Lorrie Menconi as the Playmate. Her centrefold can be seen briefly as 007 is walking out of the office. See below for the cover.

In the James Bond film Diamonds are Forever, it is revealed that Bond is a member of the London Playboy Club.

Playmates and Bond girls
A Dutch adult magazine model, Rachel ter Horst, who appeared in many Playboy magazine issues and books, made a brief appearence in the 1995 movie GoldenEye, as a glamorous casino girl.

Gloria Hendry, Bond girl Rosie Carver in the James Bond film Live and Let Die, was a Playboy Bunny.

Jill St. John, Tiffany Case in Diamonds Are Forever (1971), posed for Playboy in March 1960, the same issue that published for the first time a Ian Fleming novel, The Hildebrand Rarity, in their pages.

Ursula Andress, who played Honey Ryder in Dr. No appeared in the July 1965 issue of Playboy.

Barbara Bach, who plays Major Anya Amasova in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), posed for Playboy to promote the film.

Maryam D'Abo, who plays Kara Milovy in The Living Daylights (1987), posed for Playboy to promote the film.

Denise Richards, who plays Doctor Christmas Jones in The World Is Not Enough (1999), posed for Playboy in the 2004 Christmas issue.
