I'm gonna have to correct you in a couple of places Joel. There are select fire, true UMP's around and for sale, they just require you are an FFL, with a paid SOT and a "demo letter", from a PD or other Gov. agency requesting a demo, which is required by the BAFTE to transfer a machine gun manufactured after the 86 freeze of the registry, otherwise known as a "post sample".

The "parts count" is actually 922(r) or the sporting clause. This doesn't require that a certain number of original parts be maintained. It requires that any rifle, built on a receiver manufactured outside of the US, not have any more than 10 non-us made parts if it is capable of accepting a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds.

As for finding one HDPS sells conversion of both a regular title 1 rifle, and a title 2 short barreled rifle for $3600-$4200 depending on configuration and caliber.
