One of Bond's first non-British cars: a 1995 Atlanta Blue Metallic, Q-Branch equipped BMW Z3 with Beige Nappa Leather interior and a 1.9 Litre 16-valve four-cylinder engine. The car can be seen twice in the 1995 movie GoldenEye. The brand new model was fully equipped with weaponry as well as other refinements. During the mission in GoldenEye, Bond didn't get the chance to use the Z3 much, and eventually traded it for a small plane.
The special features on the BMW Z3 are unfortunately not really used in the film:
- Bullet proof
- Stinger missiles behind the headlights
- All-points radar system with display
- Self-destruct system
- Emergency parachute braking system
The car that was used in the movie is (or at least was until recently) on display in the BMW Zentrum in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
A very rare Limited Edition of this model was made available by Neiman Marcus. The car featured a commemorative "Specially Equipped 007" dash plaque, 007 floor mats, a beige interior and of course the "Bond Blue-Gray" (Atlanta-306) color.
