Gucci leather suitcase
In the movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), James Bond (George Lazenby) packs his leather Gucci suitcase after he decides to leave MI6. The Gucci bag can already be briefly spotted when it is taken out of the boot of the Aston Martin DBS by the porters of Hotel Palácio Estoril.
The Gucci case has a band of red and green stripes from top to bottom (one of Gucci's design signatures), two handles and a golden buckle.
The inside of the bag features a large side pocket, black leather straps and red lining.
The suitcase seen in the film was sold at a 2004 Christie's auction. They had been in possession of Peter Hunt, director of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The auction lot description: "Sale 5515 - Lot 199: The following two lots are from the collection of the late Peter Hunt (1925-2002). Two Gucci suitcases of black leather with red and green striped wool trim, both with zip buckle fastening, largest -- 20x30in. (50.8x76.2cm.) -- used by George Lazenby as James Bond in the 1969 United Artists/Eon film On Her Majesty's Secret Service."
In For Your Eyes Only (1981) Bond wears Gucci shoes, and Gucci luggage can be seen in the Miramonti Hotel.
