Royal Doulton releases new 2026 edition of James Bond Jack the Bulldog

Royal Doulton has released a new 2026 edition of its famous Jack the Bulldog figurine, one of the most recognisable James Bond collectibles introduced during the Daniel Craig era.

The Jack the Bulldog 2026 Original Edition brings back the clean Union Jack-covered bulldog design seen on M's desk in SkyFall (2012). The main distinguishing feature of this latest release is a new Royal Doulton x James Bond backstamp and a new reference number, DD 007 JB, printed on the base.

The new Jack is made from glossy bone china and measures 15.7cm (6.18in) long, 9.7cm (3.81in) high and 8.7cm (3.42in) wide. It weighs approximately 240 grams. Each figurine comes in a new James Bond x Royal Doulton presentation box with a certificate of authenticity and Royal Doulton figurine card.

The 2026 Jack is currently available from the official Royal Doulton Store for £90 in the UK, €120 in the EU and $120 in the United States.

Jack the Bulldog in the Bond films

The Royal Doulton bulldog first became a Bond object when it appeared prominently on the desk of Judi Dench's M in SkyFall. The bulldog survives the attack on MI6 headquarters and is later seen, damaged and slightly charred, in M's temporary underground office.

At the end of the film, following M's death, Bond receives Jack in a box from her estate. The label on the box famously reveals M's full name as Olivia Mansfield.

Jack returned in SPECTRE (2015), sitting on a table in Bond's London apartment.
 

Previous Royal Doulton 007 editions

This is not the first time Royal Doulton has released Jack as an official James Bond collectible.

The first SkyFall Edition was released in October 2012 and closely reproduced the undamaged bulldog seen on M's desk. That version carried the model number DD 007 and featured a special 007 backstamp and SkyFall packaging.

Royal Doulton followed it in 2015 with the SPECTRE Edition, DD 007 M. This version was significantly different, recreating Jack's "restored after the explosion" appearance, including cracks and damage to the figurine and Union Jack.

A third Bond version arrived in 2020 ahead of No Time To Die. The DD 007 B No Time To Die Edition once again used the "restored" bulldog, this time with No Time To Die branding and a new marking on the base.

The 2026 DD 007 JB returns once more to the original, undamaged Jack design, and with updated James Bond x Royal Doulton branding and packaging.

A design older than James Bond

Although Jack became closely associated with James Bond after SkyFall, the Royal Doulton bulldog design has a much longer history.

Royal Doulton was founded in London in 1815 and began producing bulldog figures during the First World War. The bulldog became associated with British determination and resilience, and Union Jack-draped examples appeared during the Second World War.

The design that ultimately inspired Jack dates from the early 1940s and was created under Royal Doulton art director Charles Noke. Royal Doulton also produced period bulldogs referencing Winston Churchill and Britain's armed forces.

More than 70 years later, the appearance of one of these bulldogs on M's desk turned the design into an instantly recognisable piece of James Bond set decoration and ultimately one of Royal Doulton's longest-running 007 collectibles.
