First episode of Young Bond: SilverFin available as a free download

The first episode of Young Bond: SilverFin is out now and available to download for free from the Big Finish website.

Produced by Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications, the full-cast audio drama is based on Charlie Higson’s first Young Bond novel. The adaptation comprises sixteen episodes across two box sets.

SilverFin follows 13-year-old James Bond as he begins his studies at Eton College, makes his first friends and enemies, and travels to Scotland, where he uncovers the plans of Lord Randolph Hellebore and a secret beneath the waters of Loch Silverfin.

Isaac Rouse stars as James Bond, alongside a cast including Charlotte McBurney, Charlie Higson, Miriam Margolyes, Tim McInnerny, Miranda Raison, Paterson Joseph, William Hope and Timothy Bentinck.

Discussing his approach to the character, Rouse said: “With James at this point in his life, it’s a challenge to map how much of the icon we’re so familiar with is innate and how much of it is discovered across these stories of Young Bond that Charlie Higson so masterfully put together.”

Higson added: “I’m very excited that my Young Bond books could be given fresh life as fully dramatised audio adventures.”

The free opening episode introduces Bond’s arrival at Eton and gives listeners a preview of the adaptation.
